WHAT KILN-DRYING REALLY MEANS
We have to burn 30% of our firewood timber to kiln-dry the other 70%
Kiln-Drying is both wasteful and environmentally unsustainable, with kilns burning 24 hours a day.

Our Air-Dried Logs are exactly the same logs as the Kiln-Dried Logs - one lot are dried in a kiln and the other air-dried in our polytunnels using sun and wind (Mother Nature’s Kiln) and both end up under 20% moisture and are both Woodsure Approved.

The Drying Process:
Our Woodsure Approved Kiln-Dried Hardwood Logs are scut to a convenient 8" length, each log is dried down to between 15% and 20% moisture, making them Ready to Burn and ideal for clean, efficient combustion.

Important - Builder's Bag Price Comparison
When comparing prices of a 'builders bag' of logs, please be aware:
- Most firewood log suppliers are using 80cm x 80cm x 80cm bags
- Some suppliers even use 50cm x 50cm x 50cm bags
- Our Giant Builder's Bags measure 90cm x 90cm x 90cm - holding over 40% more than the 80cm version and nearly 6 times more than the 50cm bag
And we don't stop there. Each bag is:
- Over-filled beyond its nominal capacity
- Mechanically shaken during filling to maximise volume
- Loaded from a 6-foot high hopper, ensuring a dense, loose fill of approximately 0.9 cubic metres of Ready to Burn Hardwood logs
The maths speaks for itself

Delivery Information
Local Deliveries - Free within 5 miles of the estate (EH49 6NB) and £1 per mile up to 30 miles.

Nationwide Delivery - Over 30 Miles
For deliveries beyond a 30-mile radius from the estate, the only cost-effective and practical solution is our Double Giant Bag. This option includes delivery anywhere on the UK mainland, with the delivery charge already factored into the price.

Giant Builder's Bags & Pallets
To ensure safe and efficient delivery, your premises must have driveway access or be suitable for offloading by a 3-metre lorry-mounted crane. Our drivers will always do their best to place your bag or pallet as close to your property as possible. However, if access is restricted, kerbside delivery will be the default option.
For properties without suitable access, we recommend choosing net bags, which are easier to handle and more flexible for tight spaces.
Please note: Although we sell our firewood by volume and not by weight, this Giant Builders Bag of Logs typically weighs around 250kg. This estimate is provided solely to help you plan for moving or handling the bag after delivery.

Storing Your Logs - Why It Matters
Proper storage is essential to maintain the quality and burn efficiency of your logs. Here's how to get the most from your delivery:
- Remove logs from the bag immediately-ideally the same day. Leaving them in the bag can trap moisture and reduce burn quality.
Store in a dry, well-ventilated location. Good airflow prevents mould, rot, and dampness.
- Never store logs in the delivery bag. It's designed for transport, not long-term storage.
- Briquettes must be kept dry at all times. They're highly absorbent and will crumble or lose efficiency if exposed to moisture.
Need a proper log store? See our range of log stores designed to protect your fuel and maximise performance.

For best results:
- Elevate logs at least 5cm off the ground using pallets or racks
- Stack loosely to allow airflow between logs
- Use breathable covers-never seal logs tightly

Burning Your Logs - Maximise Heat, Minimise Waste
For unbeatable warmth and efficiency, we recommend pairing our Ready to Burn Softwood Logs with our high-performance Champfleurie Briquettes. Together, they outperform even the best hardwood logs in heat output and long burning.

Our ideal burn ratio:
Two-thirds logs - One-third briquettes
This combination delivers:
- Higher sustained heat
- Longer burn times
- Cleaner combustion with less ash
Our Champfleurie Briquettes, made from compressed softwoods, are ultra-dry and energy-dense, making them the perfect complement to logs. They burn hotter and help maintain a consistent fire.
