TGB High Quality Timber Garden Buildings

As you can see from our website we are agents for the full range of TGB High Quality Timber Garden Buildings - Sheds, Summerhouses, Garages, Garden Stores, Playhouses, Dog Kennels and Animal Housing.

TGB are considered to be one of the leading garden building manufacturers in the UK, producing high quality buildings at very competitive prices.

The buildings are all made by TGB in their factory in Rotherham using Swedish redwood (no chipboard or MDF) and are delivered and installed by TGB's own installation teams based in Scotland.

There is no sub-contractor who can affect the outcome of the build leaving you open to any dispute between factory and installer.

They also come with a 12 month manufacturer's guarantee.

The Base

A good strong level base is as important as the building itself. If the base is not strong enough or level (especially the diagonal levels) the building could twist causing damage to the roof, broken windows and jammed doors.

These garden buildings can be erected on any level surface, however, we would thoroughly recommend you consider investing in a proper base made from slabs or concrete.

The purpose of the base is two-fold, first to take the weight of the building and not move once the building is erected avoiding windows breaking and doors jamming and secondly to seal off the ground and prevent moisture evaporating up through the floor. A good base can add years to the life of any building. We do have a landscape gardening contact who can do this for you if required.

First remove any topsoil and level the area the building is going to stand on, then lay down 3" to 4" of type-1 hard core and compact using a plate compactor which can be hired from any hire store. Lay the concrete slabs butted tightly together, in a sand and cement mix, to cover at least the base area of the building (you might want to make it slightly larger than the footprint of the building to account for water run-off from the roof and to step onto when entering or leaving the door(s).

We recommend that we supply pressure treated battens to lift the floor of the building up off the slabs allowing air to ventilate the whole floor area underneath (which becomes inaccessible once the building has been installed).

This also allows flood water to run straight underneath and should the slabs get wet they usually dry out very quickly. What you don't want is stones or chips that retain moisture which can then condensate on the underside of the floor. You can select how many battens are required for the chosen size of building in the drop down box on each product page.

How to choose the best building to suit your purpose

We always recommend you visit the estate and let us show you our display which includes sheds, stores, summerhouses and dog kennels in different specifications and sizes.
Our opening hours are 9am till 1pm and 2pm till 5pm Monday to Friday and 10am till 3pm Saturday, we are closed on Sundays and Public Holidays. This gives us an opportunity to show you the quality of the buildings, the options available and offer you expert advice on your planned purchase.

On each TGB product page of our website you will see the price for the standard build. This consists of 12mm (actual size) flooring, 12mm (actual size) cladding and 20kg roof felt unless otherwise stated (heavy duty buildings garages and Dutch Barns are supplied with 38kg heavy duty felt as standard). You then have the choice to upgrade the floor and the wall cladding to 18mm (actual size) and the roof felt to 38kg along with stable doors and security options if you wish.

Each building is made to order, so in-between standard sizes are also available, however, the price would normally be that of the next standard size up so we suggest you consider purchasing the next size if possible. You can choose the position of doors and windows on most models including extra doors and windows where required.

When comparing sizes of buildings we recommend you calculate in square feet. For example, an 8' x 10' does not sound much smaller than a 10' x 10' but the former is 80 square foot and the latter is 100 square foot, 25% larger for only 2' more on one side! Once you have selected the size of building you require you will see drop down boxes where you can select the choices available for that size of building. All prices shown on our website for all TGB products includes delivery, installation and vat.

All TGB buildings come pre-treated with quality water based wood preservative prior to delivery. We recommend that you treat the outside of the building as soon as possible (within 3-4 weeks). We recommend Sadolin Classic which is available in over 40 colours from any Crown Decorator Centre and if you do 3 coats, Sadolin guarantee the treament for 5 years. https://www.crowndecoratorcentre.co.uk/find-a-store/ Light Oak is the colour your new building will arrive in.

Note - If you intend insulating your building then we would thoroughly advise you use non-absorbent materials like polystyrene block for the insulation (which will resist dampness and prevent mould growth). For wall boarding use any product suitable for wet rooms or showers.
