The Mosquito Magnet® Defender is designed for the homeowner with a smaller garden with light infestation and up to 1/2 Acre (2000 square metres) coverage. If you have visited, lived in, or worked in a midge-infested area you will know just what a menace midges can be. The Defender attracts biting insects towards it using harmless carbon dioxide combined with Octenol natural attractant which then draws them into a disposable bag.
Designed for continuous operation; it will run 24 hours per day, 7 days per week until the gas supply has been exhausted. A 13kg Patio gas cylinder, one charge of Co2 and one charge of bait lasts about a month. It's not just humans that the midge hurts. Midge bites cause sweet-itch, an allergic reaction which affects around 5% of all horses, ponies and donkeys in the UK. To get the best out of your Mosquito Magnet® leave it on continuously from early spring right through till the end of the season. This will break the breeding cycle of the midge by killing the female of the species, (which is also the midge that bites) thus reducing the overall population. Can be fitted with an EU regulator.
